Skin of things
Surface is not decoration. It is the origin of form. Texture, erosion and material behavior become structural elements that guide both the abstract works and the jewelry. Surfaces are treated as active landscapes - carrying traces of transformation, tension and accumulation. Fire and saltwater play a central role in this process, as do their effects on the materials, including weathering and heat tension. Chemical reactions like foaming are also essential elements of the work. The goal is to allow each piece to develop its own material identity. Click on the images to trace the texture into the finished piece - can you find it?
